Summer Wedding Day – February 18-2- 2016

wedding-dayThe summer is living up to it name, we have had some hot day’s and today was no different. I was up at 5.30am, it was still dark outside and the weather was still warm. Once I got myself ready, I left the house around 7am. The sun is shining and it’s going to be another hot day. Heading to the freeway to attend a wedding party of 8. My first stop is to pick up my assistant. Today is going to be a very busy day. I am only hoping, that we do run on time.

We traveled to the city of Melbourne. I found the apartment block in Collins Street where the bride and the bridal party were staying. We arrive at the accommodation, only to be greeted with excitement. The room was buzzing, people everywhere. I decided to set up near the window, to get the best lighting. Now we are ready.

The bride had a wedding coordinator, which helped with the timing schedules for each service. The other services, which were provided on the day, was the hairdresser, nail technician, the photographer, filmmaker and not to mention the food hostess buzzing around.
I was glad to see they had a large apartment, with extra rooms for those other services. For our services, we were lucky to get the best room with a large window facing the views of Melbourne skyline. It was a wow factor.

Everything was running so smoothly, so I decided to do the bride first before she gets her hair styled. The reason for this, applying makeup on the bride, takes a little longer than the others. I prefer that the bride, enjoys her experience and at the end, she feels fabulous and looks stunning.

The morning was moving along. They had music playing in the background, the professional photographer taking photos. The other girls were sipping on champagne. I had just finished with the bride’s makeup, she was extremely happy with the end result, now she was waiting for her hairdresser to do her magic. We had a short break when the food hostess came around with some yummy food and drinks, no alcohol for us, just tea and coffee.

Now it’s back to work. In the past, if we had to do a large wedding party, the makeup on each bridesmaid would be the same. Today each bridesmaid had her own look and style. This was great for us, as it allowed us to use our skills to create beautiful styles on each bridesmaid.
The two flower girls were so cute. They were so excited to sit in the makeup chair. They were both wearing a pretty pink fairy dress with lots of sparkles. They had long blonde hair that was curled and sprinkled with coloured sparkles throughout their hair. The makeup was simply and sweet, a touch of pink with a shimmery shine. They were so sweet.

The time came when everyone was dressed and styled. The filmmaker and photographer were on the move making the memories. The bride looked beautiful, her white wedding dress was stunning, and her hair and makeup completed the glamour look. The bride was enormously pleased by the way she looked and her bridesmaids. Overall the day was busy, with lots of excitement and fun. Thank you Rachael for having us make you all look simply fabulous on your special day.
