How long have you been a Makeup Artist?

The love of makeup started 30 years ago at Hair Beauty and Modeling Academy. During the years I continued to educate keeping up with the New Trends though Various Professional Makeup Companies.

What sort of work have you done?
I provided my services to those Private Functions, for example: Engagements, Weddings, Divorce Party, Christening, Special Birthdays, Gala Social Events, Debutante and School Formals, Racing Event, Glamour and Other Photo Shoots. I am now well established and I continue to offer my service with great pride and satisfaction.

Where are you Based?
Beauty By Colour is based in Sunbury and I offer a Mobile Service to my Clients.

Do you work from a Salon? No.
Being Mobile gives me the opportunity to keep my overheads down and provide my clients with excellent service at affordable prices.

Do you Travel outside of Sunbury? Yes.
There is a Travel Fee of .95 cent per kilometer after 15 kilometers from Sunbury. If you’re local and you’re within the 15klm there is No Charge.

Are there other costs? Yes.

  • If you had paid your Deposit for your Booking Date and then weeks later you change the date from the First Booking Date you will be charged. Additional Fee of $50.00, which is Not Refundable.
  • If your staying at a different location example City and you require my services Parking must be provided and if there are Parking Cost the client Pays this amount.
  • Additional Fees for Early morning call out service before 7am……$55.00
  • Additional Fees for Makeup Service on Public Holiday…………..$55.00
  • Additional Fees Trial Makeup Over Time every 15mins …………$10.00

My Service fees will be discussed once I know what your requirements are.

What happens after enquiry?

If you have agreed to use my services for your special event I make arrangements to meet you in person at your convenience for your service date.

What happens when I Book your services?
I will then send you a Tax Invoice with the costing for the service. Then Deposit is paid which is Not Refundable.
Before the day of service your Final Outstanding Balance must be Paid.

 When is my booking confirmed?
When you have paid Your Deposit. This will reserve your booking date.

 

Can I change my Booking Date? Yes

Once you have booked in a service and paid your deposit, your date of service is reserved for you. Changing your booking date 3 weeks later will result in paying and Extra Additional Booking Free of $50.00. A new tax invoice will be sent out to you for this extra fee. This will need to be paid to Reserve your new booking date. If the date you require is Not Available due to other bookings you Lose Your Deposit.

It is Important that you are accurate with your Bookings Dates changing dates can be Detrimental for all your pre-arranged services.

What happens if I Cancel My Booking?

  • If you have paid a Deposit this amount is Not Refundable
  • If you have paid the Additional Fee of $50.00 for Changing your Booking Date that is Not Refundable
  • If you have Paid in Full, we will REFUND the Total Amount Less the Deposit and other no refundable amount.

 

What sort of payment do you want to receive?

I accept Direct Deposit or Cash.
I accept Credit Card payments by MasterCard or Visa
I do not accept Personal Cheques

 

Do you need to know if I had any Beauty Treatments? Yes

After certain treatments, your skin may be sensitive.

It’s important to us, that we take extra care during your makeup application. Normally it takes about two weeks, for your skin time to settle with most light/ moderate treatments. However there are clients, which take longer time to recover after their facial procedures. So for those who are more Sensitive, please have your appointment and treatments done much earlier.


Preparations: (A Week Before) The Do’s and Don’ts
 

  1. Having a facial, waxing, or eyebrow tattooed a week before your special event is not recommended.

With certain treatments, you may be prone to suffer some sider affects, such as soreness, redness pimples, and bruising.

  1. 2. Try to avoid drinking to much alcohol, a week before your Special Event. This may cause your skin to dehydrate and breakout.

Preparations: (A Week Before) What to Do.

  1. A week before Your Special Event it is important to drink plenty of water this will help keep your skin nicely hydrated.
  2. For those who have a group booking or the Bridal Party you will need to advice others about the Do’s and Don’ts.
  3. Give your self-time to rest and try to avoid stress.

 

Fake tan:
If you intend to wear fake tan on your wedding day, I recommend that you wear fake tan on your makeup trial appointment|

What products do you use?

The products I use are top quality, longwearing and suitable for all skin types.

The eye shadows are made of high quality pigments of varying textures that will last all day.

The foundations are either waterproof or a 24hr cream base without SPF for a photo finish look.

These are an example of some of the products I use:

M.A.C, Paint Box Cosmetic, Kroylon Stage Photography Cosmetic, Its All About Makeup, Kit Cosmetic, Bobbi Brown, Hourglass, Smash Box, Anastasia, Napoleon and several other products.

 

Can you Recreate Makeup from the Internet or Magazine?

Choosing a makeup look, from the internet or a magazine, is only a guideline on how you would like to look. Keep in mind that your facial features, are different to those pictures you have chosen.

It is not impossible to recreate the look your after, your features will make it look different. It is important to keep in mind, that each makeup artist has there own technique, in mastering the art of beauty. No makeup artist is the same, they all have there own flare and style. Photos from the web or magazines have all been photo shopped to extreme, that’s why the models look so great.

If you are having photos taken, by a professional photographer there is no doubt that they will use Photoshop to enhance your beauty, and make you look simply fabulous.

How long will my Makeup stay on?

Generally your makeup will last the distance and hold up well during your special event. However if the weather is to hot, or your night is full of dancing, I advise that you have your own translucent powder, for those little touch ups and also a coloured lip stick to keep re-applying, throughout the day and evening.

I can supply these products, at a cost prior to your event.

Will my makeup look heavy in Photos? No.

Our makeup artist is qualified to insure that your features will look and feel beautifully natural, with a touch of glamour. The professional makeup products are of high quality, so using a small amount goes a long way. We will make sure, that your needs are considered, for your photo shoot on your event.

Do you offer an On Location Touch Up Service? Yes

Depending on your required service, this will be discussed during your enquiry.

Even though I am using professional products and they are long wearing, looking your best can be challenging, especially if the weather is very hot or your night is full of dancing.

I advise all my Clients, to have their own Translucent Powder for those little touch ups and also a preferred Coloured Lipstick to keep re-applying throughout the day.

I can supply these products at a price, which can be arranged after the makeup trail or after booking my services.

If my services are provided at a Wedding and I am required to stay for the whole duration of the Event, a meal must be supplied.

 

Do you have Group Bookings? Yes.

Group Booking are refer to: Wedding party only and Debutante and Formal Event Please note: That the bride and groom are excluded from this package.

Up to 4 to 6 persons.

This will be discussed during your enquiry. (Refer to information under Group Bookings)

 

Do you have a limit on Group Bookings? Yes.

Currently we have a group booking limited up to 6.

However under Special Group Bookings, I will need to know exact numbers requiring our services. Depending on the numbers, I will organize other Makeup Artist to assist on the day. We will discuss this on your enquiry.

 

Do you charge less for Mother of the Bride or Groom? No.

We take pride in providing the same quality service to everyone.

 

Do you offer Discounted Prices?

Discounted Prices – Refer to Group Bookings. This offer is for 4 to 6 persons, at a 10% discount off the total price. Please note: that the bride and groom are excluded from this package.

Occasionally we offer deals throughout the year. This will be advertised through Social Media and the Website.

Special Group Bookings – This service will require extra staff to manage and service the larger booking. A quote will be supplied.

 

Do I need a Trial Makeup Booking?
I recommend that all Brides have a Trial makeup session.
We will discuss the look, and the colours.
The trial makeup session, takes about 2.5hrs to complete.

Timing scheduled is important; we will have less time, to discuss your makeup requirements on your wedding day because of the other services you have booked on the day. That’s why these trial, are perfect for you.

Fake tan:

If you intend to wear fake tan on your wedding day, I recommend that you wear fake tan on your makeup trial appointment.

Do you offer Trial Makeup Bookings on Friday Saturday and Sunday?

Those days are reserved for Weddings and Other Functions.

However if there are No Bookings on those days, we will accommodate.

Otherwise our Trial days are from Mondays to Thursday during day or evening.

Can I have my Friend, Sister or Mother Present at my Makeup Trial? Yes.

If you need the opinion, of looking your best, you’re welcome to have them present. Once we have gone, it’s to late to change you’re makeup look.

Allow 2hrs-30min this is an adequate time frame, to complete the Makeup Trial. If the appointment time goes over, an Additional Fee of $10.00 per 15mins will be charged and needs to be paid on the day.

Do some research? Get s some ideas, from the Internet or magazines. It’s important that we consider all your needs, so at the end, you’re excited.

 

How should I Prepare for my Trial Appointment, Wedding Day and Other Events?

Read the Do’s and Don’ts section first.

I will need a fresh clean face with no moisturizer on.

I will totally prepare your skin with my products, which are free from fragrances, oil and SPF. My products are suitable for all skin types even sensitive skin. (Refer to information on Trial Makeup Day or Bridal Makeup Service)

 

 

What happens at my Wedding Day Appointment?

I will arrive according to the agreed appointment time.

Depends on the numbers, I may bring another makeup artist to assist on the day.

It will take about 20min to set up.

Makeup for the Bride will take approximately 1hr 15mins.

Makeup for the bride should not be rushed.

Makeup for the Bridal Party, will take approximately 45min per person without distractions. In some cases and I am referring from experiences, timing schedule may vary during the day.

Makeup for the flower girls under 6 years will take 10min and up to 13 years 20min approx.

 

How does timing work on the day?

Timing is crucial, during the day of the wedding.

You will need to determine the booked hours for each service. For example: hairdresser, photographer, nail technician or other. We prefer to be the first service that you receive on the day.

Bridal makeup normally takes about 1hr 15mins, it is important that we don’t rush it and that you enjoy the experience and the pampering that you rightly deserver. However if your hairstyle takes longer than the makeup, I suggest you book you’re hairdresser first. We will then start with the bridesmaid’s, their timing will take about 45mins each, without distractions.

 

What happens if your Makeup Artist is Sick on the day of my service?

This rarely occurs but we are all human and things do happen. In this case we will organize to forward your makeup trial information to another Professional Makeup Artist, to carry out the service.

So don’t be concerned, you will look fabulous on your Special Day.

 

Do you offer Hair Service?

I have some wonderful hairdressers, who are well established and highly qualified in their field.

I am happy to contact them, should you require a Hairdresser for your Special Occasion. We do work in as a team, so if you require their services and Beauty By Colour we can meet at the Hairdressing Salon, to cover both of your Appointments. If you require both services to attend to your location, I will need to check the available booking schedule with the hairdresser and then confirm the details with you. We can discuss this further on your enquiry.

 

Do I Pay you for the Hairdressing Service?

No – I will give you the name of the recommended Hairdresser and the information so you can contact them directly. They will do their own pricing, so you pay them.
