A Social Night

SOCIAL NIGHT
A Sunbury client hired my services for a social evening event. I arrived 10 minutes earlier and was greeted by two delightful inquisitive young children. My client came out to see if I needed any help with my bags. I took my gear inside and set up in her kitchen area over looking her lovely garden. It was the right place to set up, as it had perfect lighting.
Once I was set up, I got my client to sit in my comfortable makeup chair. Looking at her lovely features, I knew exactly what colours and shades I was going to use.

My client was a young mature lady with fair skin tones with the odd blemish on the skin surface. To cover the blemishes, I used a canceler supplied by Thin Lizzy. This product is fabulous. It is a smooth texture easy to apply, it comes in many colours, its waterproof and it is suitable to use under any type of foundation.
Talking about foundation, for my client I used the HD foundation that is supplied by Paint Box. They have a good range of colours to suite all skin types. This foundation has a lovely texture to it; it’s a light creamy texture without SPF. It glides on smoothly whether you use a brush or a beauty blender (sponge). It has that photo finish, look when you apply it.

Knowing what my client was wearing, a little black dress, the eye shadow colours were easy to decide. She had beautiful blue eyes, so I was aiming to make her eyes the feature of her face.
I have a number of different suppliers, that have quality-pigmented eye shadow with different texture to create stunning styles.

You don’t have to use to many eye shadow colours, to create a beautiful style. So for my client, I used a peach matt base to cover the lid and above the crease line, then I applied a matt tone in navy to the outer corner of the eye taking it up to the crease line to create a smoky wing look, I continued to blend with my brush to soften any harsh lines. Back to the lid of the eye, I added a light shimmer grey shadow to the inner corner and middle of the eyes and then I added a touch of black shadow to the outer corner of the eye giving it a wing smoky eye look. Paint Box and Mac supplied the products I used to create this look.
Now that the eye shadow has been applied, I am ready to create a wing, using Paint Box deep blue coloured eyeliner. Using the eyeliner, I carefully applied the coloured line keeping it straight, from the inner corner of the eye then creating the wind shape, on the out corner of the eye. Once I got that perfect wing, I then continued to add eyeliner to the water line, to the bottom and top of the eye, from here, I was going to put false eyelashes on her, but we both agreed that her own natural eyelashes were thick and long. Once I applied the Mac waterproof black mascara her eyes were perfect.

Keeping the face looking fresh, I applied some translucent powder before contouring her features. Having high cheekbones, the profile was stunning once the contouring was completed. I then applied by Paint Box, a slightly rosy blusher on the tips of the cheeks then finishing with, a shimmer glow just above the upper cheekbone.
The lipstick, to finish the look was a matt natural rose colour by Revlon.
I was so excited with the finish result, my client looked beautiful and her eyes were the statement of the evening.
To her amazement, she was overwhelmed by her look. I was so pleased, that her experience with me was so rewarding. My client reported back to me, that the make up stayed on all night and through to the next day. She decided to keep her makeup on the next day, however she did have to add some colour to her lips and cheeks. The foundation and colours of the eye shadows, lived up to it reputation.

We both had a lovely time; it was great offering her my services and knowing that she was extremely happy with the outcome. Now I am booked to do her wedding that’s coming up in the next few months. She informed me that I am going to be her personal, professional makeup artist for all of her social events.
By providing quality work and a professional service, I have gained a lovely client and good friendship.
Till next time.
